In honor of Black History Month, this concert is a tribute to the jazz legend Louis Armstrong. Louis Armstrong, also known as Satchmo, Satch, and Pops, was an American trumpeter, composer, vocalist and actor who was among the most influential figures in jazz. His career spanned five decades, from the 1920s to the 1960s, and different eras in the history of jazz. Troy Anderson got his first taste for music while growing up in a Bahamian family filled with musicians. At the age of 10, he began playing the trumpet and went on to perform in the Florida Sunshine Band and the Gospel Sounds before being introduced to the world of the drum and bugle corps in school.
